<p>Foot Pain is one of those symptoms to look at in detail to get the correct diagnosis for.  Read what one Doctor in San Diego came across one day:</p>
<p><em>Today a patient presented with foot, heel and arch pain and had  received a diagnosis of plantar fasciitis from a doctor.  The top of his  foot was swollen……and when I asked him where it hurt he pointed to the  swollen area.  This was obviously not plantar fasciitis.  He said his  foot stays swollen and throbs in pain.  This was not the typical running  injury.  When I questioned him about any trauma to his foot he denied  it.  I asked “Are you sure you did not drop anything on your foot?”  He  said no.  I was puzzled until I looked over the history forms he had  filled out.  I asked “You had Gout?”  He said yes but not now.  I said  “When you have Gout it it does not go away it just goes to sleep, like a  volcano.”  The he said” Actually it does remind me of what my big toe  had felt like.”  After examining his foot and finding no evidence of  plantar fasciitis or heel spurs I checked the swollen area.  Tender,  swollen but no black-and-blue and no history of trauma.  “Yep, you have  Gout.”  I wrote him a prescription for an x-ray and for 16 ounces of  pure cherry juice per day.  Cherry juice does miracles for gout.</em></p>
<p>The moral of the story is:</p>
<ul>
<li>Make sure you tell your doctor your medical history- don&#8217;t hide anything!</li>
<li>Make sure you don&#8217;t prejudge your condition</li>
<li>Make sure you take care of your feet!!!!</li>
